Whistles Fashion Store - The Jane Mather Edit

It's not very often that I get to go shopping for myself!  When I'm out "on the high street" I'm usually either personal shopping with a client or making a very quick stop in shops to pick up essential items for the family.

.... but last month, whilst in Tunbridge Wells having my hair done, I decided to take a few hours for myself and I "hit the high street"... it was bliss!!  Definitely one of my favourite past times -  mooching around the shops, seeing what's new, what might be of interest to my clients and trying one or two (or three!) items on.  What's not to love :)  One store that really stood out for me that day was Whistles - I received great customer service and was so inspired by the beautiful colours and style of outfits on sale.

I remember visiting Whistles a lot whilst working in London (at least 6 years ago now) and they very much catered for the professional female seeking something a little bit different in style but now they appear to have coupled this with great everyday pieces that can either be dressed up (maybe for work or a special event) or dressed down (for mummy duties or a casual BBQ with friends).  To me this new approach suggests a change in designer / design team... who knows!?!  What I do know is that I had to be very strict with myself that day and limit my purchases.  Here are my top picks from their collection, with a sneaky peak of me modelling ( - hopefully the modelling part will come more naturally next time!!)  their gorgeous Florencia Sun Dress- one of my recent purchases.

Dress: Florencia Sun Dress in blue, Whistles  |  Jacket (previous season): denim jacket, Gap

Two beautiful pairs of trousers that work well with a stylish pair of trainers, but could also be teamed with a pair of espadrilles or high heels.  Depending on your style preference you're likely to like one more than the other.  Just remember, if your legs are not a feature that you wish to draw attention to go for the Toria trousers (more neutral) over the Palmyra (more patterned).

For me, this season, a jumpsuit is a 'must have'!

Two very different style of dresses.... wedding guest outfit on the left and possible workplace outfit on the right. So elegant!

If you've brought anything from Whistles, leave a photo in the comments below, I'd love to see your purchases, and if you need any help with choosing that perfect outfit do get in touch and we can chat through my personal shopping service or online shopping service.

This post is in no way sponsored, just me sharing what is currently inspiring me.
